Encouraging change through self-realization
Everyone possesses innate abilities and strengths that shape personal growth. Taking the first step to heal is courageous - striving for balance through self-discovery is the ultimate act of self-compassion.
The heart of my practice is centered on how our experiences shape our brain, body and stress responses – how these emotional templates impact how we learn to cope with difficult emotions and their effect on our capacity to connect and realize our potential. I am passionate about helping adults, couples and adolescents develop skills that empower them to overcome obstacles, navigate life transitions and recognize and process unresolved trauma - often the core of many life challenges.
My goal is to help clients integrate body and mind, develop awareness of internal sensations, emotional associations and often unconscious behaviors. I use both cognitive and somatic strategies to cultivate mindful awareness encouraging change though alternative interpretations, perceptions and actions. Our goal in therapy is not to pathologize by asking “what is wrong with me”, but to expand understanding of how life experiences influence who we are, how we relate, respond interpersonally and how our belief systems may limit our capacity to self-realize. I am committed to encouraging change through guiding the development of adaptive skills, increasing self-confidence and building faith in your ability to transform and lead a fulfilling life.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, interpersonal conflict and trauma/ PTSD.
I am a clinical social worker board certified in telemental health with certifications in trauma, anxiety treatment and anger management.
